Have any fans ever successfully contacted Prince? What are my chances?

I would like to send Prince a letter regarding my appreciation of his work, and a request or enquiry into the possibility of the release/creation of an extended (or 12") version of the song "Beginning Endlessly" from his latest album "20Ten".

I wanted to see whether anyone had ever successfully contacted Prince, and received a reply (whether by Post, E-Mail, Telephone etc), how likely my chances were to be successful in my attempts with the issue regarded above and how, if i were to attempt it, what your best advice for procedure would be.
