How late do clubs stay open until in NYC? There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

I love Dwele's voice. He has that smooth, jazz sexy vibe going on. He did a track on one of Boney James' cd. I like his voice because it sort of reminds me of Will Downing's voice. [Edited 8/19/10 12:41pm]

I remember back in the days, when I was younger, some clubs closed at 12 noon. Talk about party past dawn.

That's exactly how I felt the time we were in Minneapolis and Sweetie asked me if I wanted to go to Bunker's that night. We'd just been the night before and I was really tired, so I said, "Nah...not tonight."
You guessed it. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

In Massachusetts clubs close early. Basically by 2pm the latest everybody is out and the doors are locked. I can not picture Prince even getting to a club until well after midnight. It seemed that all the aftershows in Europe went on and on until 5am or later. I think he would go crazy someplace where the anounced last call at 1am, yikes. I think you mean 2am.
Anyway, that's why it's call NYC, the city that never sleeps. I remember when I lived in Florida, the clubs closed at 2am.. how boring. [Edited 8/19/10 12:57pm]

You may be right about times. I thought that last call was at 1am and that the doors locked up at 2am but I have not been out for a looooong time to a club. Prince being an insomniac and all I can't picture him enjoying someplace like Boston or Miami. I wonder if the time thing was an issue for him when he had the club in Miami. (I heard from an old bodyguard of his that that club was gorgeous). All I picture is Prince barely getting started and bartenders would have to start breaking down the bar. I have no clue, but I think it would be irritating as hell for him. There came a time when the risk of remaining tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. Anais Nin.

You can find many clubs, i.e., dance/jazz clubs, hotels that have music/bands entertainment, as well as restaurants, open until the wee hours of the morning providing you with entertainment, every night of the week, and open until the wee hours of the morning, throughout NYC . Of course Manhattan, being theborough with the most businesses, entertainment and tourist attractions, provide the most entertainment. [Edited 8/19/10 13:41pm]

According to some moquakers at moquake.com,
Prince was at a club named "Groove" in Greenwich Village in NYC on Thursday night, chilling and checking out some music. Another moquaker states Prince also checked out "Fela On Broadway" yesterday as well. A musical based on the late Nigerian musician/composer, and pioneer of "Afrobeat", Fela Kuti.
I bet he enjoyed the fantastic Fela music performed by the musicians of the musical as well. It's an excellent show. Patti LaBelle joins the cast on September 14, 2010.
Nice to know he's enjoying the live music here in the NYC, and the weather here has been great, sunny and in the low to mid 90s.

Has there been a New England get together recently? There are a few of us and it would be fun. When was the last time he was up this way? I really do not think he will be back in New England any time soon. He seems to be showing up at B.B. Kings club and maybe he would show up at another city with a ton of musical clubs - THAT STAY OPEN - but that doesn't include Boston. I just would love to see him once at LEAST.
