Where does your Prince buying stop?

In terms of

1. I have every Prince CD

2. I have every Prince CD and everything he's put on out the Internet

3. I have every Prince CD and every vinyl

4. I have every Prince CD and every Prince band release; so that would include the NPG releases

5. I have every Prince CD that he wrote and produced; for example, Ingrid Chavez

6. I have every CD where he has a song; for example, Bright Lights, Big City, Happy Feet, etc.

7. I have every CD his "company" has produced; so all the releases on his own label

8. I have every Prince and associated artist

9. I have every CD he's guested on: No Doubt, etc.

10. You tell me

Everyone has their own limitations.

Where's yours?

??????

Yes, all that, but i don't go for albums he has guested on, unless his contribution is significant, i'm not interested if he only played 30 seconds of guitar on one track.

Same with vinyl, i only really go for limited editions, unless i can find something old, but even then it has to be mint and unplayed, preferably sealed.

I have every official cd album, and i would say about 80-90% of all the cd singles. I have all the (audio) stuff (downloads and cd's) from the various websites he has had. Then there is all the books, magazines, dvd's, vhs, concert memorabilia etc, etc.

I have spent a fortune on Prince product, and will likely spend a lot more in the future.

With the internet providing high quality bootleg downloads with all the art work provided, i no longer have to spend large sums on live or outtake material, which is handy.

10: I've 15 Prince albums. I'm not a completist though I'd like The Crystal Ball set. I'd be prepared to pay for the Mazarati, Jill Jones and Mayte records, but nothing extortionate.

I'm no afficionado, so I'm only after Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain, Parade, Sign, Lovesexy, prince, TGE, Emancipation, and 20Ten.

My Prince buying stops with New Power Soul, evidently. Just couldn't bring myself to exchange money for that POS. Although now that you mention it, I can't seem to be arsed to find internet-only releases like Exodus and Chocolate Invasion either, though they might be good, for all I know (I love Xpectation, but that's different 'cause it was delivered to my inbox via the npgmusicclub).

Beyond music and maybe some t-shirts, there's not much else I really feel the need to own.

No need to.

I have much more than 1000 boot titles and I only paid for 3 or 4 of them.

Trading & sharing, anyone?

It stopped at stupidly priced/rare things. I only buy albums and general release phyiscal singles now. As long as I have the new album and any non-album tracks I'm good, I don't need that rare Brazillian promo of Rave where his catsuit is a slightly darker shade of blue because of a printing error.

Related artists are another issue entirely - that's where my interest is these days.

The thousand dollar iPod is where i end. Unless i become rich. Also I will download a song he has written for someone or produced, but not buy the whole album for one song.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
