piano melody from Under The Cherry Moon

Hi, guys

I am curious what it the name of the piano melody played by Prince in the beginning of "Under the Cherry Moon" movie, when he plays it for "the lady in white". How is it called? Does it appear on any CD?

Thank you.

untitled as far as I know, on "The Show Will Proceed", Ernest titled it "Lady In White's Poem"

unrelased on any official disc as far as I know...but it does appear on the previously mentioned 2disc set.

I was wondering this the other day.

It's a lovely piece of music. Is that really Prince playing the piano on that one? Because if it is, I've vastly underrated his ability on that instrument.

Yup.

It's available on a few boots, but only ripped from the movie audio - unfortunately.

Yes, that's "An Honest Man". It's listed in the movie credits

and an acapella version was released on the Crystal Ball album too.

Yeah I listed in the credits of the movie as "An Honest Man" as well. I forget my methodology for calling the track "Lady In White's Poem" on my bootleg. I wish the real trac had been released by now. The acapella thing on CB is just cheap and unnecessary.

Is the one on Crystal Ball, the same one with the sax solo? Or is that more recent?

You seem pretty handy with audio-editing - have you tried laying the Crystal Ball version over the instrumental? That would be interesting to hear!

I've thought about it actually. Never put it to the test though. Might be an interesting, if not frustrating, project.

You're thinking of "Crucial".

Keep your headphones on.
