Girl 6 soundtrack question

Hi,

I only saw Girl 6 once, when it was released in theater in 1996. I wanted to order the DVD but realized it was only reissued in DVD in the USA so for now i won't, and i can't find any torrent of the film online either.

The main reason why i wanted it is that i remember that there was ONE unreleased instrumental track in the film, a Madhouse-like intrumental with Eric Leeds, probably featured only as a snippet in a short scene IIRC.

I already had a good knowledge of Prince's catalogue back then so i don't think this coulda been a previously released track that i wouldn't have recognized but who knows...?

I also don't remember it being named in the end credits and anyway ASCAP registers "Girl 6 Cues".

Can someone who has the DVD enlight me on this, confirm the instrumental's existence and possibly tell me its length and if anyone had any idea of its title?

Thanks smile

You sure it wasn't "Habanera" from Carmen?

I believe it's "Oilcan" from the NPG's GoldNigga.

nod

As i recall, The only none credited tracks were Oilcan & Deuce & A Quarter

Far as i know the only unreleased track in the film is played during the final Credits

"Girl 6" As i recall... It is just a bit longer then the Cd version with some extra vocals near the end

Thanks for the info. I wasn't too familiar with Goldnigga at this time so that's probably what i heard.

I used to have a so-called "extended version" of Girl 6 in mp3 (might still have it) but i never noticed any difference in duration or content between it and the CD version. Could you please check if there's any real difference?

Thanks a lot biggrin
