Is this the true soundboard version of this famous performance?

whoops was this against the rules? It was a youtube link to another version of the George Harrison tribute with a completely raw unpolished mix, and more video at the startup than was broadcast.

This is also the night Prince was inducted into the HoF. I remember seeing this version on Tom Petty's website following the broadcast. The mix on this version is a mess. Some instruments are way too loud, drowning out everything else. For example, listen to the piano at the beginning of the Prince solo and also the other lead guitarist is all you can hear at the end of the solo. However, this mix let's you hear, for better or worse, some of Prince's guitar work not really audible in the regular version.

This seems to be a third version.

It's basically the raw unsweetened mix, an obvious difference being the piano is turned UP and much more the clearest thing in the mix next to the vocals which sound raw.

I did see this the day it aired, and the mix that was aired was the sweetened mix.

But the version that was put up on Tom Petty's site is second version where Prince's guitar was turned down at the end. I know that version as well.

So it wasn't just me, his guitar kinda got lost in the shuffle at the end there. I was wondering if it was just my ears.

That's the best version I've heard, is there another one even better than that one?

The one I have, is I believe the one that you just mentioned, the one where P's guitar is turned down towards the end. The one you linked to and then took down is a new one yes?

Yes I think the one I found has Prince's guitar so clear, all the way through that it doesn't sound as good in parts. I even for a second thought that osmeone had dubbed themselves playing it as another strange youtube video. It sounded that different!

But I could be crazy. I wish I could just post it here!

makes no sense to me why it's not allowed to be posted here

it doesn't infringe Prince's copyrights in any way
