Can't believe people only listening to TRC, Lotus and 20TEN a few times! They are such growers, see Radiohead albums..

I guess:

Goldnigga
N.E.W.S
High
Slaughterhouse
Chocolate Invasion

Think that's it. Must have listened to 20TEN 30+ times now..

It would be easier to list the albums I have listened to more than 10 times - the first 6 albums, The Rainbow Children, and Lotusflow3r. Other than that, I far prefer to hear the music live, rather than the studio recordings.

Cool. biggrin

I prefer to hear the studio albums: it's joy in repetition wink

I am only listening to live albums (audience recordings) a few times,

Soundboard recordings I am playing a bit more.

But generally live music tends to bore me after a few listenings.

I will never get tired of the classic Warner Bros. studio albums... music

OMG! I forgot to add One Nite Alone to my list.

Definitely that piece of junk should have a good place amongst my worst Prince albums ever.

As for Indigo Nights, I had even forgotten that one existed. I think I could not listen to it entirely at least ONCE.

Yeah, had forgotten Indigo nights...and can I just add that the book was a waste of space as well?

i thought the debut album for NPG was released in 1990

following the release of Graffiti Bridge

Goldnigga was rejected by Warners for release. Prince had copies pressed and sold them on the Act II tour in Europe in '93. The album was then made available through other sources later in the year.

Goldnigga never really received large scale distribution, hence it's status as a much sought after collectors item.

Goldnigga is a good album if you are into like beating the system and defeating the white man.

Act II?what is that

it may be a collectors item but i would totally get it.

REALLY?!?

Are you listening to it on cassette or vinyl, cuz CD's & MP3's are extremely easy to program those tracks out...

Vinyl

Okay, that explains it, my guess was right. biggrin

Might I recommend that you get a digital copy of this album, leave out the segues, and give it another shot? TGE really is a fantastic album...

There are songs on that record I think are great, but playing through all the way is nearly impossible for me.

For me, it would have to be Lovesexy. Its not that I don't like it because I absolutely LOVE it but I just cant take not being able to choose the songs I want to listen to. I am forced to listen to the whole album because of the stupid single track thing. I love all of the songs but sometimes I am just in the mood for certain songs and I skip this album because of the tracking. sad

Sweet Jebus. It's 2010. Not only can you buy this as a tracked CD, you can actually rip the CD to your HD, open up the .wav in CD Wave, set the necessary cue points, split the way, and burn the resulting .wavs as a new audio CD.

Matter of fact, that's what people were doing 10 years ago with the NPGMC Ahdio tracks -- I was one of those who posted .cue files (which can be used to split a .wav).

Nonsense. They're pop music, if it takes you 10+ listens to discerne anything worthwhile, it's poop music.

And yes, I don't need 10 listens to "get" a Radiohead album either.

Alternate method: Open the WAV in Cool Edit Pro (now known as Adobe Audition), highlight the songs, then click "Save Selection As", repeat until done. Rip resulting WAVs to your favorite method of squishing songs, or burn to CD.
