"20TEN best album in 23 years"

Truth.

Heres to hoping he adds the "other" material heard, that is not included on this LP.

It is cream.

unlistenable? I wouldn't go that strong but it simply wasn't as strong as LotusFlower

it would have been reasonable to include Dance 4 Me, and Old Skool... maybe even Valentina... but that would have flattened the rock edge of LotusFlower and made it a completly different peice of work

honestly I'm not sure why I read this board... most of the people here are so damn nasty but I do check in to see whats going on

I'm not sure I want 20Ten to sound like 1999 or Controversy... dude is 52 freakin years old. I also would love another even record. Prince has made a career of making uneven records and it doesn't work for him any longer

What is so nasty about someone thinking an album is unlistenable?

Music is timeless, why should an artist stop making a certain type of song because of age?

I want linndrums and synths.

20Ten is bound to be the jam of the year if he can bring some funky flavors to the table.

You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

because he has already done it... over and over and over again. I want growth. I don't want want a 52 year old man performing muisc that an 18 year old would perform

I'm not partial to linn and synths.. but whatever the album fully consists of I hope there is some simplistic elements to it.. I don't think every song should be a heavily layered song where the production is so thick you can't get to the heart of the song..

exactly..look at what happened in the 90's...madness...lots of tunes he made back then would have benefit with a lack of so much production...like how an engineer was describing how he had 24 channels on one song during the prince 7 Diamonds and Pearls era and he said he would try to tell Prince to stop and he would not lol I forget what read that was from.

That's why I couldn't listen to that album nor "The Symbol Album". Especially "The Symbol Album" I never fully got what Prince was on about with that one, that's when he began losing me (well "Grafitti Bridge" was the start of it lol).

Best record since SOTT!? Really?! I just heard a sample of 3 of the songs, Compassion, Beginning Endlessly & Lavaux and while it's hard to judge much of anything in 30 seconds or so, especially by Prince, I am not sure I am hearing any SOTT greatness here.

(Sorry! I'd post a link to the samples but "hush nubbits" (you know who you are) or someone else might shut me down, scold me or threaten to pull my membership! Just Google it and you should find it.) Peace! wink

If 30 second clips is not enough to evaluate new music, I don't even know why you are even saying anything in judgement of the new music.
