moderatorFor the record, Kevin Smith was not some random guy that Prince plucked from obscurity to film the Celebration at Paisley Park. Smith is a very well known, loved, and respected film writer and director, act, and producer. Go here.

He LOVES The Time, and had them appear in Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, and perform "Jungle Love". That live cut is also on the soundtrack.
No, we'll never see the documentary he shot. We know the Prince story because he told it on his stand-up DVDs, An Evening With Kevin Smith & An Evening With Kevin Smith: Even Harder. Smith never signed the Privacy Contract, and Prince hated it when Smith started talking about his experience at Paisley Park.
This isn't new. Ever since Smith was picked to do the documentary, then talked about it later, fans have known.

I did not mean to make it sound like Kevin Smith is just a guy that worked for Prince! Relax everyone I know who Kevin Smith is I actually like the guy, his films are great Ive seen them. I know what he does. | |
