"Hey Duckie...let me stick the seven inch in the computer..."

From BATDANCE.

Is there something more witty going on with this lyric other than the obvious? Is it trying to be suggestive just for its own sake? Seven inch what? Disc? Vibrator? Never quite figured it out.

floppy disc?
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I always thought it was about a floppy disk but now just found out that before the 5.25" floppies they were 8" not 7".

"Duckie" is an affectionate nickname from the British.

Nope. The lyrics are "Duckie" or "Ducky" or "Duckee" or whatever spelling.

for decades, when you bought a single you bought a 7-inch
until 'round about the late '80s when singles were released on cassette and cd
hey, why not stick the 7-inch in the computer
at the very least, it's one of dozens of Prince-comments about changes in the industry

The song dates back to 1989. You don't think anyone has asked about this before?
