PEACH & BLACK PODCAST: Peterson Bros. with Sheila E 'PROPOSTROPHY' tour special episode (plus general Prince news)

In this episode we cover the upcoming Australian 'Prospostrophy' tour featuring Ricky P, St. Paul Peterson, Billy Peterson, Jason Peterson-Delaire & the amazing Sheila E! We also feature some songs from these artists to get a taste of what’s in store, as well as a special message from Ricky and St Paul themselves.

Ricky P has worked on many Prince projects including The Gold Experience, Come, 1-800-NEW-FUNK, Chaka's Come 2 My House and Larry G's GCS2000 albums to name but a few.

St. Paul Peterson is a former member of The Time (the skinny white dude in Purple Rain lol), was the front-man of The Family, and has since carved a successful solo and sideman career since leaving the Purple camp.

Sheila E... need I say more!!!

We also discuss briefly Prince's upcoming European shows and speculate on what's in store for Princeworld 2010.

Enjoy!

Sadly I will not be there but I never miss an opportunity to mention that I love "The Morning After!"

I hope all who attend get to hear a nice, funky take of "Love On A Blue Train."

Sounds like four great galahs and drongos got themselves complimentary tickets. Sounded like American commercial radio at times.

Really? To me it sounded like four guys who were excited about the music and wanted to share that excitement.

Nope, no complimentary tickets. We all paid for them fair and square. It was us who instigated this episode, not them. We notified them that we'd be doing the show, and they graciously sent us the promos. It's very rare that anyone from Princeworld comes downunder so when they do, we like to make the most of it.

I wish ! they were like $70 !

But that's alot cheaper than flying to MPLS to see them play so I guess it's worth it smile

and as for the commercial radio comment - I'll take that as a compliment LOL

Further to that, I don't mind paying for tickets if it means making the tour successful to the point where any related MPLS artists consider touring Australia on a regular basis. These guys have never been here (in this configuration) before, same with Sheila. Unlike the US or Europe where it doesn't take much effort to catch a "Time" gig, or Maceo or Candy or Larry G, etc etc, we are really excited to catch for the first time the Peterson Bros, paying for the tickets is the very least we can do for these guys.

They totally should have given you guys free tickets! I'm pretty shocked they didn't, you guys promoted the hell out of that show.. It will be awesome, the Basement is great venue, played there a few times myself headbang

obsessed

I love the version of Sheila's Love Bizarre that you played..lots of drum cool

And Captain, I feel the same way you do....don't talk to me either then lol

Anyway, you guys really did a fantastic promotion....I'd go in a minute,
except for the fact that I'm on the other side of the ocean; although
I heard the Peterson Brothers here, they didn't have Sheila with them
when they were in Minneapolis...so how is it that you guys rate? wink
