No. What they say is that the Beatles are the influence. The influence wasn't the Beatles. They were great for what they did, but I don't know how that would hang today. The cover art came about because I thought people were tired of looking at me. Who wants another picture of him? I would only want so many pictures of my woman, then I would want the real thing. What would be a little more happening than just another picture [laughs] would be if there was some way I could materialize in people's cribs when they play the record.
How do you feel about people calling the record "psychedelic"?

I don't mind that, because that was the only period in recent history that delivered songs and colors. Led Zeppelin, for example, would make you feel differently on each song.

ATWIAD was a touch of PR psycadelia, but I don't hear it at all in Parade, Parade had a strong European/French feel.

ATWIAD had a lot of Linn usage that we don't hear on Parade, and a lot more electric guitar that is mostly absent from Parade except for AnotherLover... & Alexa De Paris (which by the way does resemble God the Love theme)

I know he had a big push to put out UTCM, but the movie PR was still so popular and large, he wouldn't need to put another out that quickly, and he could have take the time to make sure the movie and accompanying album were just right. All the while promoting the hell out of ATWIAD

In terms of music, Parade is a different album from Around The World In A Day and they're not similar. They're Apples and Oranges hands down. The only album that can be connected 2 Parade is the unreleased Dream Factory project. Purple Rain was such a strong movement that he still have ran with it in so many ways. Like u was saying, he didn't need 2 put out Under The Cherry Moon nor Parade at that time bcuz of Purple Rain and plus the Around The World album was still fresh out.
