Absolutely. I'm not crazy about the record in general, but I very much like that track.

I don't necessarily think that it fits in with the "rock" sound of most of the rest of Chaos And Disorder but I have grown to like the song a fair bit over the years.

chaos has some guilty pleasures like i rock therefore but dig u better is a gem somebody said in life theres always peaks and valleys and when ur lost they wont show u the way ... people fuck with yer head and they are fucked in the head .. they dig u better dead ... and the final kiss off had u w b oche
and how bout 1999 vinyl smashed with his foot print .. and am i remembering right wasnt there like a heart in a toilet on the art work ... i think dig u better and had u are like the purple rain of that albums theme .. the grand climax of his disgust with his situation with wb ...

can i ask a question? just one?

if prince had released dig u better with had u as the bside as the first single and pushed those anti record label anger to the fore of the promotion would he have sold more and earned more respect for the record?

not that the rest of the record was all that good but shit dig u better has a sort of sign o the times kinda cool edge to it and delores would make a good second track .. zannalee is pretty good and i kinda like i will and into the light the way i like thieves and maybe holy river .. just kinda good songs .. fill it out with shit like slave and face down and he might of had a huge hit on that record ... and gotten more understanding and respect for his perspective ... stylistically it was just so out of character almost country and definately rock n rolly not much space funk on that record .. and some of the themes were a little too characaturesque and bug me ...

yes cool track

Definitely one of my faves over the years. Chaos & Disorder never got the credit it deserved as a good rock album and for having catchy material.
When eye go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all heart up in the house but when eye log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming!

wow. when did this happen? this total paradigm shift in what constitutes great Prince songs? Dig U Better Dead is nice. but what's with all the love for I Rock Therefore I Am? and the idea that it would have made a good single? is this an isolated event or is this a movement?

Delores is the catchiest song on the entire thing. lol

truth is, there was no good single choice for that album. some of the songs are fine, even good, but none of them were single material. and that's why they were on there....

it def is catchy...stands out from the rest of the tracks; perhaps it is the harmonising on the chorus

Not my favorite track on the album, but it's listenable.

it's a cool little song but it doesn't fit on that album at all.

if it had been just as lame and bad as "i rock" it would have
made more sense but since it's actually quite a decent track,
it sticks out even more amongst the solid rock tracks and the
absolutel horrific funk/americana tracks.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps
