Top ten all time weird Prince P.R. disasters... Since there is a lot of talk about Prince not paying his bills, the Lotusflow3r membership problems, I thought it would be a good time to come up with Prince's top 10 all time weird public relations disasters. Call it weird or .a genius in motion. Perhaps when he did it, it was genius, but looking back...it was very weird. All these have to be something more than what happened at a concert and things that were seen or heard about by the general public.
1. Prince wears buttless pants on MTV. 2. Prince changes name and writes slave on his face. 3. Prince threatens fan websites. 4. Prince canceling a stadium gig for 55,000, 10 days before - without giving any reason. 5. Releasing Lovesexy album over the black album. 6. Following up Purple Rain with ATWIAD album 7. None of those above are really weird. Weird is not releasing a song like In A Large Room With No Light or All My Dreams. If I was a musician, I'd want people to hear those things. Keeping them stashed away is weird to me. All the actions listed above are just showbiz, smoke and mirrors. Genuinely weird decisions are pulling out of a stadium gig you had sold 55,000 tickets with 10 days to go - without giving any reason to those fans. | |

Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews. | |

This wasn't widely seen by the public. Again, I think Prince was very nervous and shy. Showing your ass in a pair of see through pants shows neither but made good for a lot of jokes. | |

I changed the title because there is different kinds of weirdness. So public relations moments fit what I originally meant. I hope that makes sense. YOu would do this: Top 10 weird concert moments Top 10 weird relationships Top 10 caught on video moments. etc. You see what I mean? Thats why I narrowed it to PR. | |
