Who was the most annoying Prince wannabe you can remember?

For me it was thins guy hands down...its seems like there was a period in the 80's where every label had to sign their own Prince clone.

Throughout most of the 80s every label signed a Prince clone. Georgio is probably my fav. He was so cheesy and arrogant and such a rip off of Prince that you had to watch and listen. Sex Appeal and Tina Cherry were great songs back then - admit it.

Georgio was not as annoying and derivative as Exotic Storm - listen to that whole album - if you can. There is more blatant than this in the 80s.

Also see:
Clayton Savage
Nikki
Le Klass
Dreamboy
Ready For The World

I made a topic similar to this and got chewed out. But the most annoying Prince "clones" to me was Ready For The World HANDS DOWN. It still annoys me so bad that people think Prince sings that song.
As far as Micki Free, he and Prince were close friends back in the day (as you all have probably seen the Dave Chapelle skit when Charlie Murphy explains how Prince and Micki Free played ball against him.)

When I first saw Terrence Trent Darby Wishing Well video I thought it was very Princey, especially those splits...

I'd never heard of Giorgio before this, but I think he should clean up his room before he shoots a video in there. razz

I can't get down on RFTW, 'cause 'Oh Sheila' is such a good song!

As much as it shames me to say it, I have to call out Jesse Johnson's 'Black In America' video - the costume, the way he carries himself, it's just so Prince. Don't get me wrong, I love Jesse, but I really felt like he was doing an impersonation here. sad

Lol! I hadn't thought about Georgio in ages. What a total no talent, poser he was. Everything he did was Prince-by-numbers.

Every high yellow negro though he was Prince in the 80's damn near lol. And Geirgios "I Dont Want To Be Alone" was the ultimate Prince cop imo. I remember Donny Simpson grilling hin on that point lol
