Atypical Prince songs

I listened to "Dance With the Devil" for the first time recently and I didn't get an immediate Prince vibe from it. I could here it after I listened to it again but it wasn't obvious.

What are some other songs that "stand out" in his catalogue?

it's hard to answer, because he's covered so many genres; cannot even think of one he did not cover.

but a song that really got me thinking: WTF is

"Computer" on Emancipation

It was weird in the Princely sense, but extra weird 4 me

If you mean oddball sounding tracks in comparison to his "regular" sound. Hmmm.

"Others Here With Us"
"Kiss" - since he didn't put it together the way we hear it, it's definitely not a Prince sounding song per se. It's a David Z one.
"Annie Christian" with it's Fox Trot drum rhythm from a 6 year old's play organ.

"Willing and Able". It sounds like an african song. Listen to the guitar!
You can tell about Prince's Future , but his Past is utterly unpredictable

Sounds more like a country song.

For whatever reason, the first song that comes to mind is Arrogance.

I think that song gets mixed reviews around here, but I think it's great.

Does Prince have a typical kind of song? confuse
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Good question, perhaps for a new thread. What is a typical Prince song? First one that comes to my mind is Crucial. It has lots of the elements that one typically associates with Prince's (popular) songs.
