that backdrop was created by the Tonight show people... they do all the backdrops for the bands. It's all created and up already when you are loading in to do the show.

You know, thinking about it, it's not 'normal' for Prince to have an album cover that actually features anyone other than him.

If it was, maybe he was playing up the whole 'Prince & the Band' aspect if it was meant to be a more funky, full band album.

I do remember something on HQ/here at the time regarding an album (no memory of it this was the Armana thing). I don't have any more info (or PROOF! ) - Just saying, I vaguely remember it too.
