Thats the truth. Almost none of the actors in Purle Rain were professional actors, I would say Prince, Morris, and Jerome did the best work. Remember Clarence Williams (Francis L) was already a serious actor and I think he lifted the quality of the film like no one else. Watch the scene in the basement with Kid just prior to the Computer Blue performance. It is great stuff. THe best line in the movie came from this scene: "Never get married"

All that was the great stuff to me - that "motherfucker" spin was classic Prince.

He cant act but when he played that one scene where he was like playing guitar and he said "dearly beloved"and some other shit, and started wailing on the guitar..that shit was believable lol, i was like that boy is good!. When he plays a musical genuis it's like...real!!.
