It just sounds so silly that I can't even hate the thing.

I'm just a bit worried about the reaction he is going to get from the supporters of the team. Obviously he has gotten his stuff associated with the team only because of his own status as a"musical legend". Just about anyone else could have pulled off something better. Furthermore, when he offers a song of this type for such a purpose he seems almost delusional (maybe he should have offered them a remake of Graffiti Bridge instead). Nothing new in that sense though, but it still just throws you off a bit.

Ladies and Gentlemen, with the start of 2010 comes a whole new low in Prince music, the rock bottom. Making Hot Wit' U, Life O' The Party and Incense & Candles look like ageless masterpieces.

3. I went back, listened to other team's fight songs, and totally see what Prince is trying to do.
4. Despite this, I still laugh.

When you judge it as a football song instead of a "Prince song", it's not that bad..he wasn't trying to do another hit, just a fight song for Vikings.

I can see this site is made up of many, many non-football playing, non-football-watching, non-living-in-an-NFL-city, non-BCS-college-attended, can't-find-ESPN-if-their-life-depended-on-it funkateers.

That's cool.

This is an anthem. It's not the greatest "fight song" (your words, not Prince's) ever written, but it's in exactly the same vein as "Bear Down, Chicago Bears" or "All Hail the Redskins".

The only thing any true Vikings fan would change about this is having it delivered a week earlier, so that it could have been played during a Vikings home game. Obviously, this isn't going to be played at New Orleans over the weekend.

This song will still be played at Vikings game fifty years from now. Deal with it.
