Could it be that Prince will make a great record?

Personal opinion: 3121 and Planet Earth were very good, Lotusflower missed that mark by a small margin, perhaps it's time for a really good album this year.

Perhaps a new album by the summer that he could tour and use the instrumentalist he used for the Leno 3 night show. I'd love to see that and hear that.

He'll release an album in October, with an insert housing a special 17-digit code to access his new $98 website, www.FuckinUDry.com. 1 in 1000 codes will access "special features" on the site, which will basically be the videos he pulled from YouTube (quality intact), plus a 128k mp3 of "Push It Up" from a bootlegged audience recording copy of the show.

By November, 90% of buyers will forget the album, yet the Org will be flowing with "What is your favorite order of tracks?". By December, he'll have forgotten the website, but not before he posts a final "Satan Claus" message on it for the Holy Days.

By this time next year, someone will be asking, "What are your hopes for 2011 and Prince?" Then someone like me will pop up and post a similar reply.

giggle You funny lol

My hopes for Prince in 2010 is he's healthy enjoying life. Maybe we'll get a new album. That's all.
When you think about the painful fact that Mike (I mean, MJ) passed last year suddenly like that sad ....you'll see where I'm comin from.

My thoughts exactly--thanks for stating that...

Lotusflow3r alone ranks as one of his best.

Then as a 3cd set, it truly showcases to a new generation that he is the all in one. The complete entertainer. The greatest of our time.....then we got 20+ albums pre....dig?

2010, anything he wants. He delivered big quality wise, studio and live and im again greatful he still chooses to do that like no other.
He owes nothing BUT, if i was to wish, i'd ask for a full UK Lotusflow3r release with good (and within principle) promotion, including Dance 4 Me video.

If not that, UK gig or new small LP, preferably experimental with just new tracks.

...or for him to just continue being free and doing what makes him happy.

I've come to the conclusion that Prince will never have another huge, real comeback. he would never have another hit single. Hopefully he can make good music though, maybe even great music and be commercially successful but as far asd making an album that would put him on topb of the world, it's impossible. Even if he made the greatest thing ever recorded it still wouldn't set the world on fire. Why? Because the music industry will never change, it's all about youth. Young people care about music, when you get older, you're more concerened about family and career and bills. Young people revolove there lives around music and see people over 35 as old for the most part and don't give their music much of a chance.

Sad but true...

What they don't realize is that some artists get older and become better at the craft of making music. Take David Bowie, for example. He has remained fresh and innovative, where Prince got in this straight funk rut (I could be wrong as I have not listened to anything since Musicology). Prince used to make amazing funk tunes, followed by amazing rock tunes, etc. I think the jazz thing killed him.

The Rainbow Children was his funeral, ha ha...

Oh, and I would like him to release a DVD of a show like the one he did at the Montreaux (Spelling?) Jazz fest. Face it not all of us have a chance to get the bootleg copies and personally I like to buy as much as I can legit. The man knows he is at his best in front of a live audience and the chances of him touring to places like Boston or Providence ever again are close to zero.

SO, let those of us who can not jet over to Minneapolis on a minutes notice have a chance to feel like we have been there and actually reap the profits himself. If I find out that he is making DVD's of his shows available on his website, I will actually join.

Why should he make any more records? or even CD's? Why not take a break, go on a trip, seek out some eXcitement and relax back to a sizzling time. Hm? Hm? Let him have some time to himself and actually enjoy himself. Alright? Ok? Looovely.

I think P is more unpredictable than U give him credit for.

You're right.
I never predicted that he'd sue his fans.
I never predicted that he'd throw a fit over a mother's video of her child dancing to a Prince song on YouTube.
I never predicted that he'd charge exorbitant amounts of money for a "lifetime" membership, yet then tell people it's only for the lifetime of the SITE, not the fan's lifetime.
I never predicted that once he got free, his musical prowess would suffer greatly.
I never predicted that the freer he got, the more he'd try to enslave the very ideas that got him to this place of alleged freedom.
I never predicted that he'd turn his back on everything that people grew to love him for, leaving people wondering "WHAT THEEE FUCK?!"

You got me.

[b]MAN I LOVE UR POSTS. U HIT ALL THE POINTS!!! I JUST HOPE IF P CONTINUES 2 FUCK ME, HE WILL HAVE THE COURTESY 2 GIVE ME A REACH AROUND!!!

I wish he'd do something totally off the wall that somepeople will absolutely hate but others will love.

you are all going to hate me for this; I really want him to do a kids album. he could cover Sly's Everyday People and Stand. I am sure he has others he might like to do. On the cover Prince would be smiling. Just one of these mind you. It would get alot of publicity because it would throw everyone off and every comic would be talking about it which is good for sales. I know there will be alot of eek shake falloff going on.

A kids album that sounds like Song of the Heart would sell like hotcakes! Prince could do it way better than the Disney artists.

Yeah, he actually has something called a "range". I honestly think it would take people by suprise and if it's good and not smarmy adults will love it too.

Well thanks to Purple & Mold we're off to a really shitty start... I guess that means we can only go up from here... you set the bar mighty low Mr. Nelson...

I'd love to see an album of SOTT/Lovesexy/Parade quality with a Tour to match!!
I'd love to see tickets sell for $50-$75 MAXIMUM and shirts to be locked in at $20
I'd love to be invited to an after-party...
