Purple Lessons

With Prince being the influetial man that he is, how has he affected ur life? We all know how he had affected society back in the 80s. Many of today's rap and pop stars even got their own feel about their music style from listening to Prince. I want to know what u do now that u picked up from him, maybe being more reclusive, smoother in ur words, hairstlyes, the way u dress, how u percieve the world, clever things u do or say 2 get ur lover in the mood, more in touch with the Man above. Or maybe just an explanation from a past experience from seeing him in concert, big screen, or in person. Let's talk it up.

I don't know if it's what you're looking for, but I over use the phrase "I think you're cute, but you're jut not my wife" since watchinh UTCM lol

Lol yeah, my mother still sometimes says his slick phrases phrases from Purple Rain There's even an African-American erotic novel called Erotic City and every chapter is named after one of his songs and the story line actually pertains to it. It's a real interesting book; a good read and chuckle for a Prince fan and a fan of erotica

Prince has been a part of my everyday for years. I just think about him. When I was married to two different men over the course of 20 years, they knew I love Prince...

A sentence or a paragraph can say very little about a love that you carry with you in your heart. Prince has inspired many poems I have written as well as some smaller art projects. cool

I would not be here today if it weren't for Prince's music. In essence, his music saved my life and I will forever be grateful smile

Prince has inspired my poetry, and the songs I have written. I wrote a special poem for him & Mayte' when they married. I have written a short story called "Dream". What would you do if Prince showed up at your front door! if you want to read it, email me and I'll send it to you.
Seriously, listening to his music helped me to get through Hurricane Katrina. I only had a copy of purple rain left, and now I'm back on track. His music makes me smile. worship hug

Musically? Yes
His personality and how I percieve the world? NO lol

U know liking Prince is fun and is like a hobby etc, but he shouldnt be seen like a god figure. To try and copy his personality and actually live ur life through his is a bit weird. He's a great musical influence and all...but thats it.

as a young man I took a lot of 'Purple Lessons' that I kinda wished I wouldn't have. Mostly the clever stuff. If you're taking coolness lessons from UTCM, then somebody who loves you needs to take you aside and give you a kick in the ass.

Speaking for myself, I don't see him as a god-like figure, and speaking for mostly everyone here he's a clever musical genius. So not exactly living the same way, just some things you picked up as a habit unintentionally or just to incorporate a few things you found interesting in your life. With the appearances' thing, I was talking about like a memory from the past or wanted to do for one time

Since 1981 or so, I have always used "U" instead of "You" in my writing. I seem to use it against by better judgement. I surely don't want people to think I'm stupid, but it's become a habit I can't seem to break.
If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!
