This was our first dance at our wedding (almost 10 years ago) - and it's still my ringtone for my wife's cell phone! smile

I love this song; I think it's beautiful. I actually had a first kiss with someone to the song a long time ago... tease batting eyes
batting eyes ACRYLIC batting eyes
I do nothing professionally.
I only do things for fun.

I admit that I started listening to Adore more than FriendLoverSisterMotherWifeCook (razz) because it is beautiful.
As for FLSMW, I didn't think that it would compare to Adore but,
as I've been listening to it, trying to understand the thought behind the lyrics,
and feeling the ethereal feeling to it,
it feels very spiritual, like a spiritual union.

It's beautiful that she encompasses the various qualities of a woman and can fill so many spaces in their union.
At least she has something to add to the union.

(Hope that makes sense, but I guess there are many interpretations.)

I'm so glad someone has mentioned this ..... I get shocked sometimes by Princes talent to this day and songs like this highlight his sheer talent further ..... this is a deeply deeply unique and beautiful song .... people need to give some songs a chance and listen deep to truly appercaite the meaning and emotion. This can sometimes takes even years as some things come to you late. This song along with Future Baby Mama is very underated and they are one of Prince best works. The fact that Princes best work in the 80s is a bit of a myth ... the level of songwriting talent is still there and in some ways he is getting better. 0The Holy River another stunning song and in my opionon one of his best ..... This man can do no wrong in my eyes when it comes to Music. Often we judge Prince on his standards alone and my God are they high!

it is refreshing hearing this again after a couple of years. i'll play it to death now, hearing the vocals i don't remember hearing over the last decade. still, a great song, and performance. loads of ideas, spin-offs vocally, i suppose he had the inspiration from somewhere.
