That's my bootleg!!! excited Honestly!

I made that in 2003, and called it "Parade: The Show Will Proceed". There are two disks. I also did "Purple Rain: Severe Storms - The Extended Forecast". It has the 'iTude Records" stamp on it I believe. But the Purple Rain disk has a different stamp. Ted, owner of DTT Lyrics, helped me compile a few things for the Purple Rain set, so we came up with a different name for that "record label" stamp, I believe. God, it's been six years since I did all that stuff.

My goal was to put the songs in order that they appeared in the film (and a couple were played more than once). I also wanted to put in "Mia Bocca", and segue it right into the song. It was tough to listen to the beat and try to figure out where it was in the song (remember, in the movie it was just the drum beat and some strings), and then segue it into Jill's song. I think I nailed it though. I also had a tough time with "New Position" thing, but I think it worked very well. I had to edit a few things for the sake of time, and keep it moving along. I didn't want it to feel like it was just the movie on a CD. I wanted the music to be the highlight, but added the dialogue to keep a "story" in there as well.

I found doing both boots to be very, very fun. I struggled with Purple Rain because I was never happy with how "Take Me With U" turned out, and I never had a great quality copy of the original cut of "The Beautiful Ones". some things worked and sounded better than others.

I added those Parade outtakes at the end because I had the space. They are not newer or better versions, they're there for the sake of being there, and they were from the album. I think I mixed "Little Girl Wendy's Parade" into the album version of "New Position", but then segued that into the boot version of "I Wonder U", just to have it in it's original form.

I always giggle when someone finds that boot. I never made it to gain money (and I never sold one copy, or even tried). I did the boot for me, and I did upload it to a GROUP and put the NEWS out about it. From there, I suppose it's floated around a bit over the years. I hope you like it. I'll answer any other ?'s you have about it, although I'm not sure it's that deep. hahaha

blahblah yawn bored bored2

Only if you're selling them. This was a super fun project, and my biggest pay off is people enjoying the work I put into meshing the movie and the music into two cohesive and fun disks. You seem to be the only naysayer on here. No more attention 4 u.

PS I'm not a hater, so Prince's boohoo isn't directed toward me.

I just remembered the "L Edwards" imprint on the Purple Rain set I did. Ted, who owns and runs the DTT-Lyrics.com site, helped me on finding certain outtakes to include on the set. Because of his help, I included a nod to him in the "label". L is my middle name, and his is Edward. Ergo L Edward's Records.

And there you have it. I want to redo that Purple Rain cover art for those who have the boot (!).

I like the Parade stuff, even all these years later, so I'm leaving that artwork as it stands.

Thanks to SquirrelGrease for sending me the artwork I had long since misplaced. hug

Respect, sir. I've had the Purple Rain, Severe Storms on my mp3 player for a couple of years. Love it!

Ahhh, very good. Thank you. Somehow I always gravitated toward the Parade set, but I do love the Purple Rain set as well. Both were just fun, personal projects that I hoped others would enjoy over the years.

Here is my artwork for it. (Someone sent it to me because I had misplaced the originals, but they had a copy from way back.)

The CD artwork bleeds over the edges, which is fine. Once you print it on a label, it fits perfectly.

There are Intro and Outro covers for both CDs, CD jackets, and inlays.

I also run a Flickr group for artwork. I"m not sure what's there, but feel free to give it a look see.
