Prince Vs The World (Purple Indicator Test)

If u ONLY have 1 choice

1) Listen to Prince music (500+) official songs + remixes etc (Includin all his future release + boots

Or

2) Listen to ALL other music (Except Prince), with no Prince related at all

FOREVER For the rest of your life, which will u pick?

There is no compromise...Bear in mind, if u pick option 2, u can NEVER EVER listen to purple rain, kiss etc forever (Everything from his catalogue, u can only look at the cd artwork). That includes viewing of Prince Dvds. Of course there is huge catalogue of other music u can listen to, but nothing compares.....hmmm

This is an Ultimate Indicator of how Purple u really are !!

U will end up like the General Public in a record store, no knowning what to buy, a lost sheep who will NEVER get to climb Graffiti Bridge / Ladder and feel Purple Rain.....Listening to tons of dance hits but NEVER getting to hear Kiss again...Think Again...R U PURPLE???

take another look at this b4 u conclude...
http://tinypic.com/view.p...021f7n&s=6

in future, u can only stare at it if u choose option 2

lol

Number 2 is the clear choice. I could listen to Prince covers as well as Prince produced projects which are peppered with his musical DNA, and his voice on occasion.

Number 2 definitely, Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga, David Bowie, Sananda Maitreya, Madonna, etc all outweigh Prince only collectively
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

#2 Because a lot of people have done Prince covers and sampled him, so I'd still get a Prince fix if I needed it.

Number 2, clearly. But that would be the answer for ANY one artist chosen, obviously. Therefore this thread is stupid.

Prince to me is like tasting proper coffee, once you've had a taste you have a problem drinking the stuff from a store. In other words listening to other stuff gets over shadowed. Dont get me wrong I love other artists and groups but Prince has done so much that its gauranteed that i can play a song to match any mood. Today i listened to some tunes off a friends Ipod, couple were ok yet others i coud not stand. I was thinking "Prince is so far better"

Then you're not listening to the right kind of "others" music.

Difficult to choose. Its like asking us if we would rather give up oxygen or water. Either way we die without them. wink

Option was available so I made my choice. I do believe Prince said on the Rave unto the Joy 2000 that when he wants music that he'l make it himself. So "perhaps" he would pick 1

Well said. u can hear a funk tune but may never match kiss or ballad that never match joy in repetition...Quality over quantity

No.1, no question about it....don't forget, if u went for no.2 that would also mean u would never ever be able to hear any of his future recordings too. Now ur regretting, hey

What, like that's a bad thing? Considering the bulk of his output in the past 10 years has been less than stellar, I'd take the other millions of songs and artists out there to fill in the blanks.

Choice #2..I grew up on Bob Marley,Celia Cruz,Willie Colon,Machito and all Afo-Cuban and Reggae artist..I would never give that up for one artist..and that doesn't make me any less "purple" than someone who choose choice #1, it just means I have a broader range of musical taste..
