Prince's guitar solo on Get it Up vs. 777-9311

777-9311 VS. Get it Up which song have better guitar solo?
my vote goes to Get it Up,
that solo is one of the best guitar solos
by Prince and he showcased loads of pure class
Rock lead guitar licks. he was a classy player at
such young age he was only 23 years old.

777-9311 have great guitar solo played by Prince ,its the blue print for what Jesse would do live,
but still Prince whammy bar work from 1982 was not up to what he can do now .

p.s. many orgers still don't know that it was Prince who nailed those classic solos not Jesse

That's hard bcuz I love both solos! WOW! Both solos r great 2 me and the 'Get It Up' solo is slept on. Jamie Starr did his thing on that one. That's a good one. SMH...

They are both great solos along with the solo in "In A Spanish Villa."

I'd have to say "Get It Up" because up until that time P hadn't played with that much fire on record. The synth parts are great too.

It made us go "Is Prince really playing that? Because if he is that cat Prince is a baddd mutha."

Same thing with the piano solo on "Sexy Dancer." When I heard it for a long time I thought Patrice Rushen played it uncredited but in one of those interviews with an engineer he confirmed it was Prince.

You will soon realise that to say that to banshed is a big mistake. Look at the floor, whistle and back to the door slowly. He is not asking for your critique but merely for confirmation that he is correct.

Isn't that right banished? wink

My iTunes doesn't have Get It Up by Prince. It does have the same song title by Chickenfoot though so at least I get to hear Joe Satriani. Now HE'S a guitarist of some standing! Shit solo on that song though.

777-9311 gets my vote. Prince smoked that solo in Jesse's style of playing. It was almost like he was saying, "ok, I can do that too. So what else you got?

Who ever said Prince has lost it - has lost it. The Kid's still got game!

That's because Get It Up is by The Time.....but it was written and produced by Prince, and his backing vocals are all over it.

And it's Prince on every instrument on "777-9311", NOT Dez.
