Who thinks The Pope and PControl are similar? I do, but I can't figure out why... maybe just because they are 2 of my favorite P songs.

I think the pope is more about BControl

They're not similar at all.

P Control is about female empowerment. The Pope is all machismo and bravado.

The Pope uses some same sounds as Pheremone. Including some of the underlying bass kick things that propel the beat. The vocal strings on keys too...

or so it sounds to me!
