Nothing Compares 2 U

I know this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it in the FAQ, so please bear with me!

Nothing Compares 2 U (live), from The Hits 1: this is from the Nude tour, in support of Graffiti Bridge, right? Reason I ask is, I'm making a mix for a (hopefully) soon-to-be fan, only one song from each album, and all material she's never heard before. She already has Graffiti Bridge, and I'm separated from my copy of Loveleft Loveright, so I'm hoping this song will fit the bill.

Does it count as a Graffiti Bridge track, and if not... any alternatives?

You need an alternative to The Question of U, Joy in Repetition, Thieves in the Temple, and Still Would Stand All Time? Those are the easy go-tos.

I don't really care for Rosie's voice on Nothing Compares 2 U. That might just be me. I love Rosie, but her voice isn't my favorite.

I don't like NC2U either! But this person already has the Graffiti Bridge album. sad

I might rip the audio of Question of U (live) from the GB dvd, but I was hoping not to get too fancy! razz

Do you have any of the alternate versions of We Can Funk? That could be a nice substitute.

No, the version on The Hits album was recorded in 1992.
(during preparations for the Diamonds And Pearls tour)

The Nude tour was in 1990 and wasn't in support of Graffiti Bridge (which hadn't
been released at that point). It was a greatest hits tour, supporting the
Batman album.

Aw crap!

I wish I wasn't such a stickler about these sort of things (though I'm glad to kick NC2U from the mix)! I don't have any alternates of We Can Funk (which I love), and I'm 3 or 4 provinces away from my NPG maxi-single.

Guess I gotta go rip that dvd! confused

Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of Graffiti Bridge stuff released. So if you
don't wanna include a track from the album itself, there's only really the NPG
maxi single and the remixes of Thieves In The Temple to choose from.
Plus the only real outtake from that album was The Grand Progression.

That version was recorded on January 27, 1992 at Paisley Park during Superbowl weekend. The whole show was professionaly filmed, the concert footage in the video is from that show.

Boo. Maybe I'll use a track from The Time's 'Pandemonium', that was used in the film. For the record, here's the tracklist so far (you can tell what albums she already has, by the choices):

    For You
Why You Wanna Treat Me So Bad?
    Dirty Mind
    Do Me, Baby
Something In The Water (Does Not Compute)
    Another Lonely Christmas (extended version)
    Girl (extended version)
    Mountains
    If I Was Your Girlfriend
    Le Grind
    I Wish U Heaven
    Vicki Waiting
    Nothing Compares 2 U (live)
    Violet the Organ Grinder
    7
