Biggest change from one album/era to the next.

Ive always loved how Prince evolves and his forever changing his appearance seemingly with each new album. So how about some pics of what you guys believe is his biggest change from one era to the next.

I mean for Rave you could see the change happening, but he wasn't all the way there yet.

Maybe Parade and SOTT. Completely different sound and production.

My vote has to go to 1993-1994
The look from Prince to prince. The different hair style, the increase in eye make up, the sound of the music and the clothes. Drastic change

Rave to the Rainbow Children easily.

Musically and clothing wise.

Blue vinyl jumpsuit to a sweater? Remember the dollar bin glasses he rocked with that rave suit?
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

I would say going from 95 to 96 a lot has changed. Suddenly this Badboy, reclusive, parental advisory, angry, flashy dressed man went to wearing suits, softly spoken, Media friendly, non-swearing friendliness.

Musicwise going from Gold to Emancipation is also quite the big step. Production changed, more emphasis on electronics, entirely new band.

Ok, this picture is from 98. I was actually looking for that pic in the Emancipation booklet, with the black suit on, sitting on a child-chair, but couldn't find it. THAT was a big shock after the angryness of Gold.

seem to be the 2 eras that have been so "opposite" of one another.

That picture is precious as hell.

I think the gap in between Parade and SOTT is pretty interesting.

Rave to Rainbow is pretty big too.

Rave -> TRC?
There really wasn't much of a recent precursor to TRC other than The War and maybe Beautiful Strange.

Also agree with prince to 93/94 era. The band and sound became a whole other thing.

The obvious one is missing. take the hard ass rocker of 1999/Purple Rain Era and shake it up,let chill for a couple of months and then serve up a trippy jazzy band leader of the ATWIAD/Parade era.

most shocking to me - the biggest change was The Gold Experience >>> Emancipation

The production of TGE was brilliant, very edgy, everything was just perfect, rock, funk, soul, pop - every style

Emancipation, like everyone knows: plastic and synthetic production, I was shocked... where was the funk on this album??

A 180° change, I have to agree, but I loved it!
