Help - What Prince Song Is This Mariah Song Reminding Me Exactly Of??

"Angels Cry" by MC. The main hook in the chorus', like at :59 "lightning don't strike..." or 1:12 "true love's a gift..." Those 4 notes are reminding me of what I think is an 80's possibly unreleased song, possibly an instrumental? Faster in tempo than Mariah's song, and maybe it was a sax that actually played that riff in Prince's song, or some instrument.

I know I'm not crazy. Sifting through the endless Purple vaults is a daunting task to try and find the mystery song, so I thought for sure somebody else here will know what I'm talking about. Maybe?

It's a slight bit similar to "Venus De Milo", but not enough that I'd think "Oh...that sounds like Venus" every time I heard it.

LOL No it's not that. I definitely know my standard released tracks inside out. It's the wealth of unofficiality that gets fuzzy. Well I'll do some digging, and hopefully when I find it and reveal it, some of y'al might say "oh yeah, he right!" cool

Have u orgers heard Mariah's new single? It's a cover of I Want To Know What Love Is by Foreigner. I actually prefer her version even though I'm not a big fan of hers.

Her version sounds like a pigeon in heat. It's a horrible remake, and it's a song that should never be touched. It was an instant classic. She pissed all over it.
