If Chaos And Disorder and Newpower Soul had been released as one album

Which songs would you have picked?

I'm not suggesting the albums should've been merged. This is just for fun.

Both albums have eleven songs so choose eleven songs for the merged album.

My picks:

1. Chaos And Disorder
2. I Like It There
3. Dinner With Delores
4. The Same December
5. Dig U Better Dead
6. Newpower Soul
7. Until U're In My Arms Again
8. Freaks On This Side
9. Come On
10. The One
11. Wasted Kisses

Interesting idea to merge them. It's funny coz when I first put chosen songs of these albums onto my ipod & listened in the car, I realised after a day that they were depressing me! So i took them off and put on new Prince stuff. It was a relief! NPS is either too rappy or too sleepy for me. 3121 has too many lifeless electro sound effects for my taste.

NPS

Until you're in my arms again - sleepy
The one - sleepy. He has many made many much nice slower songs
Wasted kisses - this is a nice track but I'm not keen on the sound effects
I like funky music - put this on a 5 time repeat, I wouldn't mind smile

3121

Te amo corazon - Love this one, video is great too!
Incense and candles - ditto
Beautiful loved and blessed - ditto
The dance - slow but I love it!
Satisfied - nice but a little slow so I would flick
Fury - video live is completely different, so I'd give it a chance
The word - But only if edited. Meaning someone steal his electric guitar here please! mad

In no particular order.
tch tch I did the wrong cd. I did 3121 smile Not going to erase. I'll pull out Chaos and Disorder now, I don't know which songs are on which. My apologies for the muddle.

I don't see the link. Why these two in particular?

I've said before that I think Chaos should have been shorter, and been released as a bonus EP w/ The Gold Experience. Chaos is the little brother of The Gold Experience. The EP should just contain

Chaos And Disorder
I Like It There
Dinner With Delores
Same December
Zannalee
Into The Light/I Will

Let "Right The Wrong" end up as a B-side somewhere, same w/ the others not listed.

I thought it would be interesting if people picked the songs they like the most from two albums from roughly the same time period. Then everyone can make up their own minds if the suggestions are an improvement to the original albums.

Chaos & Disorder tracks are more closely related to GE,Come era to me, they were recorded around the same time.

I would put NPS with Rave.

.....

Prince: Rave un2 The NewPowerSoul

Beautiful Strange
Newpower Soul
Baby Knows
Mad Sex
The Greatest Romance Ever Sold (Remix Edit)
Prettyman (Extended)
The Sun, The Moon And Stars
Come On
Wasted Kisses
Tangerine (Extended)
The One (Remix)
So Far, So Pleased
I Love U, But I Don't Trust U Anymore
Silly Game
Until U're In My Arms Again
Whatever U Go, What Ever U Do

Bonus:
U're Still The One
Habibi

Right The Wrong should have been left to rot in the Vault.

I think if he released the album as follows it would have been a much better album.

Chaos and Disorder
I Like It There
Dinner With Delores
The Same December
Calhoun Sqaure
Empty Room
She Gave Her Angels
Into The Light
I Will
Strays Of The World

Dude thats one of the best suggestions for this album I've seen!
I like how you seamlessly go from the out & out rock to the spiritual. If only Prince had put as much thought into it as you did!! cool

i always thought NPS and RAVE would have made a more decent mash up
than CHAOS and NPS. they're too different. rave and nps could have
made for a 10 track, very nice album as well.

But then it would have combined two quite different sounding records? From completely different eras? Performed by different line-ups for the NPG? It would be a bit like fusing songs from "Graffiti Bridge" together with songs from "prince". Could work on some level, most likely not.

NPS and Rave are indeed much closer to each other.

Wish it was one cd...then I could regret just buying 1 instead if both sad

The Same December is weak, i think with that omitted that tracklisting looks damn good.

I prefer to play with mixing C&D with The Vault...OF4S, after all they were compiled at the same time for WB and both were compiled from existing tracks. For that matter, to me, they both go well with CB, I view them all as "vault" collections...
