Also my only regret. Not what I'd expect from a soul album. Ok it was "new power" but I find it far too busy, with too many sounds hashed together. I like funky music and wasted kisses are nice though.

I have the vinyl and a signed poster of Carmen too. Got them at a Controversy convention at Glam Slam Minneapolis for a prince album preview. The whole NPG was there to sign posters as well (no Prince). I think it may have been one of Carmen Electra's first public appearances. She was three fine.

My Go Go Dancer CD-Maxi has 6 songs. The one in the link has 5 songs and is labeled "single". That's why I thought it was the one you were talking about.
Maybe it's just the difference between the US and German Maxis.

Mine (US):
1. Go Go Dancer - Radio Edit
2. Go Go Dancer - 12" Mix
3. Go Go Dancer - The Dub*
4. Go Go Dancer - Factory Mix
5. Go Go Dancer - Dub Dub Dancer
6. Go Go Dancer - Royal Mix

German:
1. Go Go Dancer - Radio Edit
2. Go Go Dancer - 12" Mix
3. Go Go Dancer - The Dub Dub Dancer
4. Go Go Dancer - Royal Mix
5. Go Go Dancer - Factory Mix

*seems to be the only difference

What are orgers biggest regrets regarding Prince related products that you put off buying at the time of release, and now cannot get hold of as untouched originals?

Mine would have to be; not getting The Black Album, and Exodus on CD, The Beautiful Experience on vinyl, and the 7inch vinyl poster bag of I Wish U Heaven.

I'm still gutted to this day!

you can get the beautiful experience on ebay. i just got one recently, sealed, and pretty cheap. i always see them listed

It's the German one I have with only 5 tracks. biggrin

I don't think any of the mixes are particularly good, though, so I suppose I haven't missed out on anything with The Dub...? biggrin

Imago

I pretty much baught all the major things I liked right away.

It was years before I aquired kamasutra and some of the NPG releases, but honestly, I skipped most of the tracks after a few seconds of listening and haven't played any of those.

I don't know if I 'regret' lotusflow3r.com as I knew what I was getting anyway--shit. But the verdict is out as to whether he'll change that or not. Either way, I knew what I was getting so no regrets.

I haven't signed up to Litusflower due to my biggest regret....NPGMC!!!

For some people it was excellent but for me it was horrendous yet I stuck with it year after year despite failure to deliver so much stuff that other people got hassle free. The biggest bitch forme was that Imissed out on ONA tickets because the 'lost' my membership details.

I regret buying most of the stuff I got in the 90's:

The Gold Experience - overhyped and full of filler by the time it was finally released. I "lost" my cassette and never bought it on CD.
Emancipation - bought it on CD and got rid of it. Had a chance to revisit the project recently and I don't like it any better now
New Power Soul - bought it on CD and got rid of it
Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic - bought it on CD and got rid of it

I also regret not picking up Chaos and Disorder. Wouldn't mind hearing what that CD sounded like.

I still have Come, Exodus, Crystal Ball and The Vault (love all of them).

What I found funny is that throughout the 90's, Prince tried to show that his 'prince' releases were superior to his 'Prince' releases, but that was never the case IMO.

Although I feel the same way as you Imago, I have now lost patience with lotusflow3r not being used as the main outlet for recent performances or recordings like Montreux. I really do not expect to get any more content for my membership fee now (perhaps that's how Prince wants it to be - no expectations). I am officially disappointed and a little bit p'd off.

Here's one.

In 2001, I went to a Prince concert in Altanta. It was the tour where they were selling The 'Daisy Chain', 'Peace', and 'Supercute' CD singles in the souvenir section. Well, also available for purchase, was one of Prince's guitars for an even $1000.00. I think it was a white one like from the Purple Rain movie.

I acutally had $1200.00 on me that night and was going to buy the guitar. But I got all paranoid because I kept thinking that I wouldn't be able to get to my car without being ambushed by a bunch of people. Basically, I thought I'd get robbed. So I chickened out and didn't buy it.

Man, I wish I had now!

I remember standing at a concert and doubting heavily about buying 10 copies or so of the 16 track gold nigga cd'; already thinking it might become a collector's item one day. Decided not to do it because the music was garbage anyway.....

Little did I know that the money would have bought me my first car a few years later biggrin

( I still have one and cherish it even though Tony is *well you know*)

I don't know but the thought of carrying 1200 dollar (???) in my pocket just to go to a Prince concert would chicken me out, that's a reason to get ambushed, not for carrying a guitar... me thinks.
