What if - Beck re-records classic 1999 album

Hey,

Beck on his website currently has a fun project, re-recording in short time with some friends classic albums and posting the result on his webpage. Currently - first album covered - you can find Velvet Underground & Nico....

What a great idea I find? And would it not be fun to hear him re-record an album like 1999 or Sign Of the Times or Purple Rain?

check it all out at www.beck.com...

Beck is a brilliant artist, as diverse and interesting as they get. He's already done Midnite Vultures, which is as close to a Prince tribute as I've heard. When I first got it, I listened to it exclusively for about six months!

It'd be hard for him to cover a whole album, but I think individual tracks would be awesome biggrin

i believe he would do a better job than prince re-recording his back catalogue - come on 1999 the new master (where is that vomit emoticon) - prince appears to have lost that edgy streak

Oh come on - i think Beck could nail it. Besides, it's only meant to be a fun project, with the results posted on his website - Beck and International Lover - that falsetto thumbs up!

Me thinks Beck could do something wild with his rendition

I really hope not. I can't stand Beck. Even if I liked him, I would hate for someone to remake either 1999 or SOTT, two of Princes best albums.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

It would probably be "OK" but not spectacular.

I would think that he could do a good version of Around The World In A Day or maybe LOVESEXY...hell even Graffiti Bridge...but I don't know that he could do 1999 justice.

I love Beck

and I love Prince.

I think he's going to tackle a rap album next, he wanted to do Digital Underground's Sex Packets...

Who knows!

It would b a train wreck. Beck is cool n all but vary few could redo a Prince song, least of all, a classic album and pull it off.

Fun post....if any1 could pull a feat off like that my bet would b on Madonna or Outkast....cd reworked....Dirty Mind.
