Prince vs Lenny Kravitz/Who Rocks Harder?

I've been listening to Lenny as of late, and I was struck with the thought of even though Prince is funky til the ends of time and know one can wear that Crown except him. But as far as him Rockin out. I think that Lenny Kravitz has done more in that area. What are your thoughts on the matter, and by the way everyone have a safe and happy holiday.

I like Lenny Kravitz...Only knowing a small portion of his music I'd find it hard to compare these two guys.

Once again...There's Country, There's Soul, There's Rock&Roll, and There's Prince. cool

Last Night, I spent another lonely Christmas...Darlin' Darlin' U shoulda been there.~Prince.

Yepp he sucks what a boring personality and his songwriting is just terrible I cannot believe he got a record contract in the first place. If I never heard a Lenny song I haven´t missed anything.

One of the worst songs ever created

Lenny should continue making crap on a stick music like this and let real music left to real artist.

Lenny's career is based on copying Jimi Hendrix and Prince..his first album was good, but now - boring. He has more "rock" songs, but Prince does his thing better.

Prince is amazing.... LK is pretty good though. I saw him live in the UK recently and wasn't looking forward to the gig. To my surprise he blew me away with an amazing gig, his current band is funky.

If we're talking about which artist has a harder rock sound you gotta go with Lenny. I get that a lot of Prince fans prefer Prince's music to Lenny's but the question is which of them rocks harder. If you look at it objectively you gotta say that Lenny rocks harder. For whatever reason Prince doesn't release a lot of hard rock music. Lenny practically wins this argument by a forfeit.

Please define "rocking out".

People always say that. Like "He's rocks!" But what does that mean? Exactly?

Or "Ready to rock?" What the heck, specifically, does that mean?

Since I've seen both live on several occasions, I'm going to have to side with Lenny Kravitz as being able to pull off the most spectacular rock show.

Prince could do it, but he hasn't chosen to.

That's because Prince doesn't stick to one genre that long. But if you go through his catalog, concerts, outtakes, etc, and pull the just rock tracks together, the collection is pretty impressive.

And I agree with the poster above that the two tracks with Lenny on the Rave DVD should answer the question pretty clearly.

I like Lenny and he does rock but his music doesn't seem very creative or unique.

Ouch why the Lenny hate):

Lenny is very inspired by Prince and Hendrix

Just as Prince is inspired by Hendrix

There both great musicians and in a current time where there's a lack of those the fact these two are still making music is a blessing biggrin
