Is some incredible, aggressive, angry sex. I listened to it today and felt like mentioning its greatness. Agree?

I didn't know guitars could have angry sex? Now for the solo...it's wonderfully awesomely awesome. I love to hear and see Prince playing without any backp just the man and his guitar. I don't think we have heard his full potential or realm of his use of the instrument. I would love to have a instrumental only record.

That solo is a perfect moment to start crying - especially when you've just been left by your loved one. Reminds me of the sweetest moments in a sour time almost 10 years ago.

I too love this angry upset guitar playing, it sounds so awesome & so honest.

The first time I heard the complete version of I Hate U with that solo was at Paisley Park, Summer 1995. We were waiting on one of the Love 4 One Another shows to begin - P was very late and the DJ was playing stuff to tide people over and get theme excited: "Something new from the upcoming Gold Experience CD." Then, I Hate U kicks in clear as a bell. When that solo came, I could have sworn Prince was onstage tuning his guitar live it was so loud and aggressive! I had to check my ears and make sure it was still the record.

Most of the Solos Prince plays in studio he also plays live with adding someting extra.
it's not true that Prince's solos are improvised.

Not technically great but just amazing to listen to. Like most Prince solos.

You act like you wrote the solo. Calm down. It's great. Not difficult, but great. The guitarist in my band could easily play that solo.

But i don't agree that it isn't impressive
what makes it impressive is not how difficult it is,but amount of feeling
Prince brought in.
maybe your guitar player can play note by note that solo but with that kind of feeling i doubt...
