I have always LOVED this picture. I have a poster of this. They sold it at the Long Beach show on the 1999 tour in late March of 83. I never saw it in poster size anywhere else other than at that show. Anyway, this pic ISN'T actually Prince. It's a mannequin of Prince with the face of a lion. To represent the profile of a lion's head on the 1999 album cover, Roy Bennet had it designed for the tour. This wasn't the only time a Prince mannequin has been used. A mannequin was also used during the intro of Let's Go Crazy on the PR tour. While Fink and Lisa were sustaining that opening chord and before P starts with Dearly Beloved, a Prince mannequin appears on the side of the stage for a few seconds and then it disappears. A few seconds later, the real P rises up from beneath the stage. But this pic here is a Prince mannequin from the 1999 tour that P wanted to use during the song "International Lover". The 2 shows I went to on that tour, I never saw the mannequin. P actually laid on the prop bed that came out of the stage floor. But I read where P's stage designer Roy Bennet said he had this mannequin made for the 1999 tour. You can clearly see that it's not Prince's face but it was designed to resemble that of a profile of a lion's head on a mold that resembled Prince's body. That's what P wanted so that's what they had made.

But yeah, P used lots of red light on the 1999 tour. Especially during "Little Red Corvette". And of course during "Darling Nikki" on the PR tour, which during both songs, I thought he looked cool. Red light I feel, has always fit Prince. I think red fits him much better than purple does. Red light, red clothes, etc.

Actually, I do believe it's peach.

It is peach. It's the same suit P wore in his promo pics with Cat. On the Signs Tour, P had on the tour poster "wear something peach and black".

Wow! That's interesting info. I'm reading your post and looking back at the picture, and thinking "Huh?" "Nah"... then looking again, and thinking "Oh..how strange" I can imagine the whole of the org's heads turning to the right and getting closer to the screen to make out that lion's head lol Well, life is stranger than fiction !! You'd never guess ... amazing!
