Now this surprised me! biggrin

ironically, it also features one of my least favorite prince songs EVAH.

if not for that one stinkeroonie of a song, the soundtrack would be damn near perfect to my ears. music

eek I love that song neutral

I thought the soundtrack was the only good part of the movie which I couldn't even finish watching because it was so boring. That movie was absolutely nothing like the television series which was what I was expecting and wanting.

i grew up with the tv show as well and damn it's so damn campy and silly at times ..big grin
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

It's probably his most dated album. Even his earliest albums still have some charm and but this one is just crass and 80s. But I love the 80s, so it's all good!

Author of the Batman Reference Manual lists Prince's soundtrack as the most embarassing part about the Batman movie from 1989.

What's your opinion?

I like this album, there are several very good songs like Electric Chair, Partyman, Vicki Waiting and Scandalous. While it definitely sounds like an 80s album I think most of it sounds fresh today, the two exceptions for me being Trust and Lemon Crush.

They're fucking idiots. No offense meant. But the CD is pretty fucking good.

Well I've been a Prince fan since '82 and a Batman fan since '74, I saw the movie on opening night, when the titles came up everybody cheered for the Batman title, and for Jack Nicholson, I waited till it said Music By Prince, then I cheered, I got some strange looks yes, but in my opinion, those other Batfans need to look at the next 3 Batman movies that had no Prince music but were at least as cheesy, if not cheesier, than even the old 60's show... So, no, the Batman soundtrack is not cheesy to me, except for that horrible Arms Of Orion... Now, that one sucked big time!

In my not-so-humble opinion...
Not dead, not in prison, still funkin'...

Why do people look back at things in the past and say? - "Oh God that's dated" Yes it is, it's in the past isn't it? Surely we should look back with a nice retrospective view and remember the times whether they be good or bad.

We will look back years from now and say similar things about now, what we are wearing and doing etc.

lol yeah

the 70's is dated too but people love revisiting the 70's
the 80's are back in too though
I don't think Prince:Batman album is dated
I think it still has a sound that is futuristic
the Future is still one of my favorites, it's one reason I love 'the Line'
