Just Took Notes On The Infamous Prince Video w/James Brown

The one with James Brown and you know who.

It seems to me Prince wanted to impress James Brown.

Note 1 - When Prince walked up to the mic(my favorite part) he start pointing at James and the women like "watch me,watch this".

Note 2 - When Prince did his mic kick thing he looked at James.

Note 3 - When Prince came back up after squating doing the mic kick,he glisped over at James to make sure he was looking.

Note 4 - When Prince told the drummer "on two"(he didn't say it,he put 2 fingers in the air).He seemed like he wanted to show James Brown he can be a leader and manage the stage.

I dislike that video very much.
Prince looked like a fool and maybe even disrespectful.
He didn't show his musical talent and looked very arrogant.
Arrogance can sometimes be pulled off on stage if backed up by musical brilliance, not mic-stand tricks.

I'm so embarrassed for him when I watch that. It keeps looking like he is going to tear the place up when he gets that guitar, when he takes his shirt off, when he screams, then he just doesn't do anything but make a fool out of himself. I get the feeling that he really didn't want to be up there.

You can tell he really doesn't want to be there and didn't feel the groove. He begins, the band isn't with him and he just stops. Didn't surprise me at all. I think ppl read way too much into this video.

Is this the one where Prince rides Big Chick like a horsie?

He then whispers in James's ear to get Prince up there probably knowing Prince was not going to top that and...he didn't. Prince looked stupid.

Prince did seem weird doing his thing up on the stage but it wasn't like he was there to be seen in the first place. If you watch the video it's Michael Jackson who told James Brown that Prince was there. He was all the way in the back and then James asked him to come up. Considering the time it was shot this was when he was at his most shy and introverted stage in his life. It seemed like he didn't want to go up on stage but who can say no to James Brown.

I didn't notice until after a couple times of watching it, but as P is coming out, he throws his glove into the audience and someone throws it back.

The spot with MJ always did seem kid of rehearsed to me, but the fact that he vanishes once he tells James that Prince is there is hilarious. Definitely an odd and slightly cringe-inducing clip.

Poor baby.....he hits himself in the head with the mic when it comes back to him I think a some point....He's sorta throwing a tantrum but it's still cute.
