I dig it when Prince references himself in his own songs or alludes to previous or future songs (e.g. 'Wall of Berlin' in 3121; reuses guitar feedback solo from 'Private Joy' in 'Orgasm'). Can you think of other songs where he does this?

"My Name Is Prince" has samples of "Controversy", "Party Up" and I Wanna Be Your Lover at the beginning of the song.

I like the mention of other songs from around the same era, makes you think which songs come first. there's more but i'm tired.....

One of my favorite cross references was when Ice Cube said on one of his songs "I bought a house next to Prince" then Prince got Ice Cube to direct the Love Sign video in which he holds up a magazine with Ice Cube on the cover. Then on GCS2000 they sampled Ice Cube saying his line on "Love 4 1 Another".
