Y'know, Calhoun Square is a rather banal shopping mall in the Uptown neighborhood of Minneapolis.

There's nothing 'cool' about it. Just so ya'll know. When Prince came out with that song people in MPLS were like, "what?". Back then it didn't have that hideous sign on it either.

Down with eyesore development!

i don't mind that kitchen supplies place in calhoun square, though it's stupid overpriced and i would never actually buy anything from there. it's still fun to browse through while waiting for a movie. shrug

i guess that would make for a really boring song lyric. lol

Oh, y'know I bought like a Bahaus looking garlic press there in the early 90s. It was really cool looking, but it pinched yr hands if you worked it the wrong way. They hav a movie theater in Calhoun Square now? Or do you mean The Lagoon?

I worked at Calhoun Square when I lived in MPLS. I lived on Blaisdell, just a few blocks in from East Lake (which eventually changed to West Lake by the time you get to Hennepin Ave). I worked at City Looks salon. There was another one of our salons in St. Paul somewhere, but I never remember where.

I used to hit the Starbucks and Border's every day. I also bought the dolphin candle at the candle store there (the candle you see in that one VH1 special he did.)

I'd go to Taco Bell behind Calhoun Square for lunch, and there was always about 3 or 4 18 year old kids with green hair begging for money. When someone told them to get a job, they said "But they want us to cut our hair and take our piercings out." Um.....well do it then. I never gave them change. Lazy fuckers.
