21 Night Book is $5

I was walking through my local shopping mall yesterday (in Australia) and I was a tall pile of 21 Nights books for $5 Australian!! I couldn't believe it. I thought about buying them all and putting them on eBay but thats too much trouble, they would weight a crapload to ship all over the place and not really worth the effort... Anyway, somebody made a big loss, they were $59.95 a couple of months ago..... eek

Dymocks... Get in there if you want to grab them up. The silly thing is, sealed and including a CD, they will probably be worth something decent in a couple of years... especially sealed

Yep. I'm also in Oz and my local bookstore has had about 10 of them for $5 for a couple of weeks and still no one's bought them! Yesterday they were down to 2 for $7. Unbelieveable. I actually bought one when they were $5 and tried to sell it on ebay for $15 and I couldn't even get that!

For that kind of money, they're worth owning just to sell in a few years time.

$59 bucks for that crap is beyond me. I can't see how anybody would be interested in flipping through a super ghey vanity project like that, but to each their own lol

You know I looked through the book and the photo session was a little pretentious and self indulgent. I know the 21 Nights was a big deal and it was nice to document it but I really don't expect to revisit the book with much interest or passion in the future.

Here's what I WOULD LIKE:

25th Anniversary Purple Rain hardcover coffee book. Full of photos from the PR era, from the movie, the premiere, the Oscars, from the recording sessions, from the rehearsals, from the tour etc. I would love to see previously unseen photos from that era and see Prince actually showing maybe some photos of set-lists, hand written lyric sheets, maybe some photos from behind the scenes from the movie set.

It would be great to have some space in the back with fans sharing their memories from Purple Rain era. Maybe a page showing all his awards for Purple Rain, the Oscars, the AMAs etc etc.

And yes the included CD in the inside cover would be a copy of Purple Rain with bonus tracks...

Now that I would pay $59.95 for...

This book is a huge disappointment. It's nothing more than a glorified tourbook. This is just another vanity project by Prince.I wish I had waited for the price to go down, lol. It's not worth $50.

I couldn't sell mine on Ebay for $15 either, but it did go fast on Amazon for $15.50.

True - I love the cd as well and that alone was worth some money. But of course, when it can be purchased at such a low price; that's really nice for us consumers smile
