Ok, I'm on the train back to the airport. I'm the man with the yellow stripe across my eyes-you see me? Anyway, show one was a dream set list. He played really beautiful, intricate versions of new and old stuff. The stage was spaced out and with such a small band, you could hear every note that was played. As he said: 'when you have this band, you don't need a big band'. It was great to hear obscurities and the elixer tunes. The only issue was the repetition in the 2 sets-you have enough tunes man-sort it out! Overall, a fantastic night.

Not everyone had a great time.
The whole situation sucked quite a bit.
The first show was good, especially the main part.

Prince failed to communicate he was recording a DVD, with us as his too much paying audience, so during the 2nd show fans were pissed with the songs played twice.
Prince was unhappy with these songs from show #1. (perfection...)
He changed the setlist of the 2nd show on the spot but failed to make up to the fans in the first row.

Prince needs a manager: Prince needs to widen his perspective. Prince needs to communicate. Prince needs to be less selfish. (why record a DVD and be #1 at the bank?

Interesting to note the design of the poster is the same style as the website, so he is still using the same designers?

I think he still wants to make the site good but something must be stopping him????

Did anybody see or steal the set lists for the show - specially the second one ? I'd be interested in knowing the differences with the actual performances. I had the impression that before "All the Critics..." he changed his mind and this one wasn't planed to be played, at least at this point.

Actually, I had the impression that after the second take on "Love Like Jazz" and an unenthusiastic reaction from the fans after this fifth or sixth song played for the second time, Prince looked like for a rare occasion he was taking another (a critical) look at himself and at he was doing. He was bent in front of his microphone for a few seconds in silence, like if he was thinking "What I'm doing ?" and then went into the only funk number of the evening with this impressive rendition of "All the Critics..."

Very insightful remarks to counter my statements.
You have no business with my life, I was actually there.

Complaint?
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
See it as a suggestion to improve on stuff.

The fact that you weren't there and/or did not get this information from witnesses does not lessen the truth in my statements.

The fact of you being there doesn't lessen the validity of my observation that all you do is whine and complaine. Getting laid once in a while or smoking a joint are not bad suggestions. smile

Its all good from the clips i saw. When eye lay my hands on u sounds absolutely incredible and the blues playing on In a large room was amazing.

What i would like to see more of though is Prince being more energetic on stage like say, on that DMSR 2004 clip up on Lotus. Thats just me though and i ain't seen it all yet, it could very well be present.

Nonsenses combined.
Even if I complain all the time, you do not explain why my complaints are invalid.
What do the valid complaints have to do with me?

Anxiety

Whether the complaints are valid or not, I know it's not unusual for Prince to repeat songs when he does multiple shows in one day, so I'm not surprised it happened this weekend. That said, just in general, I'm happy to see that he IS mixing up his usual set list and throwing in some lesser-played material. I hope it's a trend that continues, and he keeps throwing some random rare gems in his shows.
