For me, it is way too early to call Lotus a great. It takes a while for an album to show if it can stand the test of time.

When I first heard 3121, I was not very impressed. However, as the years have passed I have come to really enjoy it.

I know what you mean about an album growing on you. I felt the same way about ONA piano. I listen to more now than when it came out. At the same time, I believe Lotusflower will be in my cd player for years to come. IMO it is simply brilliant musicianship. Reminds me of Small Club, but I'm not sure how just yet.

I think the last great album was 3121. I love all the tunes and play the album all the time.

I just don't get "Let me fuck y'all over" um...I mean "Lotusflow3r" wink

There's like 30 songs and I only like 5 of them between Discs 2 and 3. I use Elixer as a coaster. lol

Really.

Elixir is very underrated album, its complex and fresh in sound,
Bria is not Aretha but the flow is very nice,And the songs are really good.in a years to come this album will be one of those you comeback
and say:wow i didn't really know this song is that good.
its
Prince's first trip to acid jazz music(all this love) which is a nice addition.

Bria does nothing for me. I tried and tried but I don't listen and don't miss it.

I also think 3121 is great. Not so much in the sense of it being artistically great. But it's an album in which I genuinely love listening to and singing almost every song. I'm extremely satisfied with it.

I do think 'Lotusflow3r' is a great album.
(Minus that God-awful '4ever' anyway!)

When I say 'Lotusflow3r' I only mean 'Lotusflow3r.' That does NOT inclue 'Elixer' or 'Mplsound' as they are both pretty forgettable IMHO. I listened to both of them at first, but now I have no desire to hear either of them.

Back to the question, though. 'Lotusflow3r' is a great album to me.

Well you can do like I did and use it as a coaster. I have a green desk and it kinds of lends to the decor. I have glass of iced tea on it now. biggrin

I wasn't kidding. There are many "greats" before that, but I would have to say that was the last one. Emancipation and Rave had several good songs, but not as a whole.

Don't you at least listen to the song "Elixer" which features Prince on vocals?

I want to say Lotusflow3r, but i think MPLSOUND is the worst Prince album bar none, so they almost cancel each other out for me, so i will say SOTT

Nope. Tried giving 'Tonight' heavy rotation but I started skipping it.'Here I Come' is nice but I'm not gonna miss it.

I really like '4Ever.' It's Prince pop precision.

I agree. I think of any of the songs on the three new albums "4ever" had the best chance of being a pop hit.
