Would Prince take part in Jackson tribute concert?

According to this article, a celebrity tribute concert is in the works:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/...nt-gossip/

Question of the day: Do you think Prince would be a part of something like that?

Discuss.

Probably not but who knows. They'd have to announce the concert first.

Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

Wasn't "We Are the World" a Jackson tribute? Did he participate in that?

Not sure if he would, but he did play several Jackson songs plenty of times during his performances throughout 2006.

No way - and for good reason. Prince is such a perfectionist and showman that he couldn't help but do his best in any concert setting, and would therefore been seen as trying to upstage Michael, show off, or gloat. He probably learned his lesson when he did "My Guitar Gently Weeps" and he got criticized for showing off when it was just him being him. He can't "tone it down" for the sake of a tribute - and I don't think he should have to.

Considering how he just licked his lollipop when he was onstage during the 25th anniversary of "We Are The World", he might not!

Since when has Prince ever participated in events like this? You know the answer to this without even asking. If he were ever going to participate in one, it would have been for James Brown.

He has already played MJ songs at his concerts ( Don't Stop Till U Get Enough & I Want U Back). I'm not sure if he would participate - anything is possible.
