If Jimi Hendrix was still alive..

do you think he and prince would have made a song together?

i dunno.

prince never did anything with sly or james, at least nothing that saw the light of day. same with carlos santana. jimi probably would have thought prince was cool, but i can't see how the two of them would have collaborated.

I think it depends on what type of cat Jimi turned out to be. If when older, Jimi kicked drugs and was pretty stable I believe they would've hooked up much like he did with Larry G.
Who ever said Prince has lost it - has lost it. The Kid's still got game!

Better question. Why does vomit kill so many musicians?
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I don't know if they would play Bob Dylan's top 40 hit off Electric Ladyland, but maybe handing out Watchtower magazines on Saturday together.

no. same dynamic he had with miles, a little jamming, a lot of reverence and no recording despite jimi insisting. Prince can work with sidemen (Maceo, Larry) of guys he looks up to but not the actual guy.

Prince did work with Miles on "Sticky Wicked" & "Can eye Play With U?". They also played live at Paisley Park.

and to add to that, I think that Prince's huge ego would not allow him to work with Jimi on that level.
