Ring My Bell/ Dance 4 Me

Love this tune but...Anybody else hear the groove from "Ring My Bell" in the hook of this tune?

OK - any DJs out there hear an old school/new school re-mix using Ring My bell at the hook. Maybe you've got to have that kind of ear.

I'm a musician, and I hear nothing in there that is even remotely similar.

Listened to it a little. Maybe the drums. Vocals are really different though

Ring My Bell is a fantastic song, but has nothing in common with Dance 4 Me, imo. wink

Would both tunes being in the key of Cm be considered something remotely similar? Steve Silk Hurley would make them work together. Right after he sings" I love it when you dance for me...2 3 4 boom - right there. You can be a fan of freaking country music and hear that shit.

OK - a little light

Not the vocals at all. Just something about that chucking keyboard/rhythm guitar sound and the way the groove is put together in that section.

Subject dropped...

Maybe you're just wrong. Maybe the blue you see isn't the blue others see. Others don't hear it, you do. So who's right and who's wrong? It's all about perspective. When you pose a question like that, you gotta be ready for the people who disagree. I know you're not here just to get a bunch of "OMG You're right!" responses, right?

Yes sir... you are correct! Seriously I don't mind when people disagree. I'm just having fun with it. Would still like to re-mix though.
P.S. I will make you all see!!! I did it again didn't I?

Listen, sometimes I'm the first to hear a similarity in a song, even when others don't. But make your remix and let's hear it.

Make it happen so we don't hear a lot of blahblah haha

I still don't think they sound the same, though...Prince more or less did the same thing with "It" and "Forever In My Life" in the SOTT movie, but those two songs don't sound at all alike lol smile

The song you have to check out is by Aussie band Wa Wa Nee who unfortunately are no longer around (disbanded in late 80's). The song is called Giving Everything and it has a similar groove to Dance 4 Me. It is a little slower but you can definitely hear similarities.

I can only find a live version on the web:

http://www.youtube.com/wa...DzzXtblvoI

It is close enough to the recorded version to give you an idea.

Thanks! I'm no DJ, threw it together last night. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion obviously. That's what forums are for. Just something about his song reminded me of hers.

That Mix (cool one btw) made me realise even more just how incredible Dance 4 me is. Too many hooks in one song!
