The whole album sounds like early-1980s N.Y.C. to me.

I mean, I know that aside from the lyrics of one song, it's nothing to do with N.Y.C.... But there's a vibe I associate with this album which I also associate with:

Warhol / Basquiat / Haring
Studio 54's post-disco years
Grace Jones
Madonna's first album
Yoko Ono's 'Walking On Thin Ice'
