"Popular" Prince songs that you dislike

_____

Taking a que from the thread "Unpopular" Prince songs that you love re: http://prince.org/msg/7/307317, I thought I'd start one up using the flip-side of the question. This isn't meant to be a negative thread, just another peek at the org's diverse tastes.

Songs that I don't dig, but seem to gather heaps of praise:

Shhh - That's what I say.
Cream - Creamed corn.
The Everlasting Now - The everlasting no.
Thieves In The Temple - I wish someone stole the master tapes.
Come - Limp.
Damn U - No. Damn U.
Illusion, Coma, Pimp & Circumstance - Yuck, yuck, yuck & yuck.
Cinnamon Girl - Flavorless rock.
Diamonds And Pearls - Ruined my favorite Sigue Sigue Sputnik riff.
The Greatest Romance Ever Sold - I ain't sold.
Eye Hate U - No. Eye Hate U, song.
Life 'O' the Party - Dead on arrival.
Get On the Boat - Send this to Davy Jones' locker.

What are the songs that you scratch your head about when folks mention them as favorites?
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Hate it. Always skip it. Don't know why.

I always think that everyone loves "Shhh" except for me! I like the few seconds of drum intro at the beginning and that's it!

I don't think I know anyone who actually considers that a "classic" song. I'd hardly call it "popular".

I don't know if I "dislike" them but they don't raise my adrenaline or make me feel as good as my favorites;

Delirious
Do Me Baby
Get Off
Sexy M.F.
My Name is Prince

However, it took me a while to get into "Sign O the Times" and "Pop Life" so maybe one day I will love these songs.

Yeah I generally skip 'Eye Would Die 4 U' as well as "Baby, I'm A Star". I always feel a bit guilty about it though.

Adore.
The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.

I almost never stay wake to listen to the 8:41 of that song. I remember having my Ipod on while I was asleep and because of that I was hearing Purple Rain ( in my dream at first I wasn't concerned because things that happened during my life happen to play in my dreams confused) and wake up in a cold sweat and that damn song playing and I was so angry (and delirious in pun intented) I threw my Ipod across the room.

The song Musicology eventually grew on me, though the album is mostly a snoozefest.

Re: Hello - I like that Prince used a song to tell the paparazzi/We Are The World stories, but the music does nothing for me. A rare '80s b-side dislike. There are only two other b-sides from the 1980s that I don't dig:

Shockadelica - Camille, shlameel.

and

Scarlet Pussy - Ain't no lotion gonna fix that.

Prince's catalog is as diverse as his audience. Not many artists can claim that. People-watching is so much fun for me at his live shows. From kids to grandparents. Every racial and ethnic background from all parts of the world. Male, female, gay and straight. Republicans, Democrats, Socialists. Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Atheists. Dog lovers and dog lovers.
