You and your Dr, Suess Haikus really make me think. Philosophically speaking, you seem to try emphasize some double subliminal meaning when you speak. Thinking, that Princiness is next to Godliness. Since prince proclaims that he is the "Messiah" and after purifying yourself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka, maybe you can achieve eternal life.

I wasn't going to say much on this subject but I have changed my mind.....
I find it interesting that some people seem to have put Prince out to pasture at this point neutral His age has got nothing to do with whether or not he is capeable of poducing children. 80 year old men are very capeable of heiring children and that has been proven nod Tell Larry King he's past it I dare ya!
But realy its up to Prince and whomever he chooses as his third wife if they want to have a child or not, which they may decide not to and considering he dosent seem to be rushing to marry anyone else at this point...dont hold ure breath y'all or u might pass out biggrin
I'll just be happy for him if he finds someone to spend the rest of his life with at this point because I believe that everyone deserves someone to love biggrin

Do you think making the conscious decision to produce a child in your later years is really in the best interest of a child, though? Seriously? Do you think an 80 year old father is providing his child the best possible parenting, in all sense of the word? Because I don't. I think making the conscious choice to conceive child when you yourself are a senior citizen (or very near to it) is well, pretty selfish. (I'm NOT talking about an unexpected pregnancy here, btw)

Being physically capable of producing children gets chancier the older one gets, male OR female, that is ALSO A FACT and is probably a fact that should be considered more often than it is, imo, but yes your point is true that age doesn't necessarily mean a person loses the ability to produce a child. But making the conscious decision to produce a child whom you likely cannot do the things with, things a younger parent could, because you no longer possess the health or stamina to do so, seems unfair to me. My father is 75 and in fair health for a man his age, but he definitely isn't able to do what he could do 20 years ago. Raising a young, healthy, active child and having all the mental and physical energy needed for such an important job isn't there like it was 30 or 40 years ago. So if he'd had a child even 10 years ago, that 10 year old child would miss out on a lot of things other kids his age can enjoy or depend on their parents to do with them; and going with this scenario, in 8 years when that child graduates from high school and the father is 83 and perhaps is so ill or has other health considerations he can't even attend the graduation, is THAT fair to the child?

Reading this topic always makes me wonder: the people that say Prince "should" have a child because of passing on his DNA, or whatever...would they be as approving and pleased if Prince decided to adopt an older child, or is it mainly a vanity thing for some people who think that fatherhood for Prince should only involve his own biological child?

Well thank u for the lecture but I am quite aware of all of this thank u very much. Save it for those who are wanting to produce children at that age not me. Personally I am almost 40 and have no intention of having any more children myself...although my mother had a child at 41 and my aunt just had her second child at 45.
Actually on the subject of adoption, do u think its fair for someone older to adopt a child as well? Because depending on the age of the child the same thing applies when it comes to the age of a parent if u want to talk about the ability making the conscious decision to adopt a child whom you likely cannot do the things with, things a younger parent could, because you no longer possess the health or stamina to do so... And as far as I know the older u get the less likely u are to be able to adopt anyway.
Anyway as I said....and this was my actual point I'll just be happy for him if he finds someone to spend the rest of his life with at this point because I believe that everyone deserves someone to love

I don't think the tone of my earlier post merited that snotty remark, but I do apologize for my "lecture".

In response to the question about an older person adopting an older child: by 'older child' I meant maybe 10, 12 years old. And yes, I do think that an older person adopting a child in that age range is much more "fair", to both of them; there is no getting up a million times a night for feeding/diaper changes, there is no chasing a toddler around the house (literally) all day, there isn't the requirements and demands that come with an infant and very young child. Of course some physical activities might still be a bit more curtailed than with a parent in their 20s or 30s.

An older parent/older child pairing would also leave the parent in question theoretically more likely able to attend graduations, weddings, see the birth of grandchildren, etc...you know, all the things that a 60/70+ new parent to an infant likely wouldn't be around for.

Pardon me but I wasnt trying to be snotty(havent heard that word in a while lol
To make it a bit more clear I wasnt commenting on an older person adopting an older child, I was talking about a child of any age.Really there arent that many people out there that have babies at that 60+ age range as it is, and like in the case of people like Larry there is usually a younger parent involved, although there have been cases of women having babies at 6o, which I definantly think is a problem.
A friend of mine, who's partner passed away last year, is raising three of her grandchildren and she is almost 50, and these are not older children either. The youngest is not quite 2 because her daughter who is on her late 20 decides each time she has a child that she does not want to raise them, now even though their birth mother is young I wonder if anything happened to my friend who would take care of them too...but thats a whole other issue.
If u think that Im advocating in any way someone older having children...Im not and I sure wasnt trying to start a debate about people in their 70+ having babies. Good Grief why would u want to??? Being pregnant at any age can eb exahusting enough as it is...and ure right about chasing a toddler around, but I tell u even in ure 20's and 30's its exhausting lol I need a nap just thinking about it
