ROCK vs. FUNK

..dont turn this into a racial thing...

With the latest releases, like no other time, Prince has separated the styles of his music.

Are there any listeners out there who are primarily into either side of his music?? I for one have always appreciated both sides (i know there's others as well) of his output.

I would love Prince to make a true rock album.

I would love Prince to make a true funk album.

At the moment, he has only dabbled in each.

I've always loved when Prince has done rock music. I like when black artists do rock music.

Peach
Endorphinmachine
Let's Go Crazy
I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man
Electric Chair
Live 4 Love (early version)
etc etc

Other examples:
Janet - Black Cat
En Vogue - Free Your Mind

I think most people that love all kinds of music...Just love anything for the most part.

I love everything Prince does, because of his voice...It is sound and words to just fall into. cool

Prince represented for me a melting pot

Prince music to me is Fusion, song like Erotic City, Girls & Boys, Ballad of Dorothy Parker, I Would Die 4 U, Tambourine

I think he does his worst when he tries to hard to emulate James Brown: the Work
but wonderful when he just takes a slice of James appreciation and make Love or Money, Housequake, Baby I'm a Star, 1+1+1=3

I hate his hip hop voice, yet I love hip hop
I hate his post1989 attempt at incorporating rap
I love his poetic rap vibe of Cat's Alphabet St [Cat we need U 2 rap ...]
Positivity [music is the key 2 set your self free...]
Girls & Boys [Happiness mama is being with U...]
Love or Money [he was bad he was fresh...]
It's Gonna Be a Beautiful Night

Prince's Rock was Funk, and his Funk was Rock
some of his funkiest rock songs are Darling Nikki Computer Blue, Temptation, Hello, All the Critics Love U She's Always in My Hair, America

I think Prince tries to be too funky now...
Just about every concert or show he was to let us know this or that is funky
