Terrible outfit, mediocre setlist, weird atmosphere...I still don´t get why this mini concert gets so much praise. I understand that people liked his performance of Motherless Child but what exactly is so exceptional about this show ?

I know this was in Madrid, Spain and everything, but I could never understand why Mayte showed up on that show anyway because at that time Prince and her were seperated and estranged, so what was the reason for her being there??? | |

This was a horrific moment for the both of them. from my standpoint from seeing this show many times it was the end of the road for the both of them. and it showed. I think they both were sad about the baby for one thing, just look at that picture he's trying to give her flowers and she looks like death warmed over, she's just out of it. Too little too late.  | |

Mayte looks terribly sad. Not sure if this was because of the child they had lost though. This was more than 3 years after that. I think they really were at the end and she had probably realized for certain that Larry had stolen Prince from her for good. I always get the Prince-Mayte chronology all mixed up, but, based on the setlist, he had already released not only Wasted Kisses but I Love You But I don't Trust U Any More.
You could be a part-time model, but you'd probably have to keep your normal job | |

Most all the songs were performed very well, and I think Prince was going for a hippy woodstock stage show vibe with the look and feel (hence Motherless Child) not to mention great shots and editing unlike many of his live appearances. Great arrangements and mixes too. __________________________

Poor Mayte' she still had a little belly from her pregnancy. I guess she was still hoping the marriage could be saved, looks like he was too, but they both look too sad. | |
